Subdivision: what you need
Opens the official government site.
Who can do this
The landowner, or someone they authorise. A commissioned land surveyor prepares the application.
What you need
Tick things off as you gather them.
Steps
- Talk to your municipal corporation’s planning department first.
- Hire a commissioned land surveyor to prepare the plans.
- Hand in the application and pay the municipal corporation and NWA fees.
- It goes to NEPA, the Fire Brigade, the NWA and others for comment.
- You get the conditions of approval. Sign and return them, or ask for a review.
- Once approved, register the plans at the National Land Agency to get separate titles. More than 6 lots must also be registered with the Real Estate Board.
- You can appeal a refusal within 28 days.
Cost
Depends on the parish and number of lots.
