Who can do this

The property owner. A renter can apply with the owner’s signed letter.

What you need

• A letter with the address, your name, cell number and email
• TRN and valid government ID
• Proof of ownership (title, tax receipt or lawyer’s letter)
• Renting: the owner’s signed permission
• The electrical inspection certificate

Tick things off as you gather them.

Steps

1. Get your wiring inspected and certified first.
2. Apply on My JPS online, or book an office visit.
3. If a new line is needed, JPS visits and sends a quote.
4. Pay the quote: 100% refundable or 50% non-refundable.
5. JPS connects your meter.
